Selection and rejection

I like this image, it is the one I'm using for my front cover. It's a good shot as it's clear, sharp and eye catching. The tank, army jacket and guitar all work together to make a good picture.
I like this image, I tried to take the shot from a lower angle. Again all the props, mise-en-scene and outfit work together to make a great image.

I do like this shot however I think that the model looks a little awkward. The guitar looks effective and it is sharp but I won't be using this image for my magazine.
This is a good shot, but I don't think it's sharp enough to use it for my front cover or dps so I will use it on my contents page.I like microphone in this image, as it links to the fact it is a music magazine.
I don't like this image, it is not sharp and the model isn't the main focus, when she should be.
At first I wasn't sure on this picture, but now I like it I think this would be suitable for my dps as it's a great image, the model has full focus on the camera and the cars look so effective.

Organisation of my photo shoots

I had to plan my photo shoot before I actually did it which had to be well organised. The first thing I did was to book in my model for when we were both free, as my sister was my model I could arrange it for whenever. I allowed myself 2 hours, this included the setting up, make up, hair and costume change. This photo shoot was for my Front Cover and my Double Page Spread, it took place in my garden, on the army tank. I wanted my model to have a musical instrument or microphone to link to fact it was a music magazine. I wanted my model to have bright clothes on to contrast with the army colours on the tank. The lighting I had for my shoot was natural light ad my shoot was outside, and this may show in some of my photographs as a shadow is being reflected. I tried getting photographs from different angles to show my skill and also it gave me a variety of shots to choose from. Also I did another shoot in the garage, using the race cars as a prop, to show hobbies my Singer does out of work. I didn't think this shoot worked as well as my first one but I still got some good shots out of it. I wouldn't say the lighting worked well for this shoot.

Masthead problem solved!

After really thinking what to rename our magazine, We have decided to call our music magazine "LYRIC" with the 'I' being a treble clef, this links to the type of magazine it is; (music)
